Yep, another one, temps in the upper teens to about 20*. Went out heading for Palmer then down the Glen. I was looking for a park I had seen yesterday, but didn’t stop. While driving and looking for the road to the park, I needed to pull over to get someone off my ass, I was driving a bit slower due to looking for the road, and pulled off on a little road called Colleen St. Well, this turned into a great little road to take. It heads into an area that is quite hilly and quite a few lakes. I followed the signs for a boat launch, which lead me to Irene Lake and Canoe Lake, beautiful little secluded lakes. Well worth the pull off, and I am sure to return.
Jan and I really need to take these little drives and discoveries together more.
I then headed to Carr’s Grocery, but had forgot my Carr’s Card, so I headed home to get it just in time to see Jan off to work. Got my card, sorted through some of the photos I had just took and headed back out to get groceries. Hmm, the sun was about to go down, so I headed out to the Palmer Hay Flats to get some more shots in of the sunset.
I did finally get the shopping done. 🙂
Redoubt is still rumbling away, wish it would make it’s mind up, the suspense is killing me. 🙂
Update:
2009-02-07 21:05:27
Continuous volcanic tremor continues at elevated levels this evening. A steam plume was visible in clear web camera views all day. The web camera is now dark for the night.
Crew from today’s gas and observation flight report no significant changes at the summit of Redoubt since the last overflight on Monday. Data from the flight are being processed.
On to some of the pictures from today.
