Aarrgghh! That’s the best way I can say it, just aarrgghh.
The other day my water pipes froze, and froze up solid. It didn’t get down all that cold, only down to -5°F, but still, my pipes froze up. I did what I’ve done before, turn up the heat, close all the heat vents and wait for the heat to build up under the house and thaw the pipes. Well, I did that, and had the kitchen faucet on so I would know when they were thawed out. I took a nap thinking the sound of water coming out of the faucet would wake me up, that never happened. So after close to 8 hours of the heat blasting under the house and still no water flowing, I had to think of something else to do. I didn’t have a heater that is safe to place under the house, so I went to the hardware store to get one. I ended up getting a Dura Heat GFA60A that can pump out 60,000 BTUs. The heater cost much much more than what I wanted to spend, but I can also use it to heat up my shop in the winter, so I guess it really wasn’t too bad, and less than a plumber. With the cost of the heater and a propane tank, it came to just under $200. The heater sure did the trick though, within 15 minutes I had water again.
Now on to the pain in my leg. I have been to the chiropractor twice now. The first time it seemed to help quite a bit. This second time, not sure it did anything at all, in fact I might be feeling worse. I have two appointments next week on Tuesday and Friday. They had better help, because it’s getting to the point where I’m unable to do a damn thing, as in I get the leg pain just walking from one end of the house to the other. At least my insurance seems to be covering some of the cost. I hope all this extra pain is part of the process of getting better.
Other things, mainly snow. The snow keeps coming down and I’m having a hard time dealing with it due to the pain I’m in. I’ve always enjoyed, for the most part anyway, snow blowing the driveway, but that joy is gone right now. I’ve also been trying to keep my roof cleaned off of all the snow for two reasons. One is due to it being fucked up and prone to leaking in one area, and the second is because of the weight of the snow.
Oh yeah, and to top all this shit off, I ripped my snowpants the other day. Now I have to hunt for and buy a new pair.
Anyway, I’ve lost all the thoughts I had to write, so…
Update… I just fed the birds, that’s all I can do for today. Just that little bit has put me into agonizing pain.
