Mr. Wolfie
He’s back! I haven’t seen our local wolf since last fall, but just as I was passing by the picture window I saw the dirty dozen (the deer that live on the property) running off towards the back. I looked out the window thinking something just have either spooked them or was chasing them, and sure enough, there he was, Mr’ Wolfie. He gave up on the deer, stood out in the apples trees for a couple minutes, then walked off into the pines. When there isn’t snow on the ground, I keep a trail cam back in a small open area next to the pines, and that’s where I see him most.
We believe he is a coywolf, a cross breed of wolf and coyote.
Here is a video of Mr. Wolfie from last summer.
First Robin
Barred Owl
Just had a new visitor stop by, a Barred Owl. He/she landed in the closest apple tree right by my bird feeders. I had to keep making lots of noise so he would look in my direction.
Funny, all the deer heard my voice and came running. Also, the Chickadees didn’t seem to mind there was an owl in one of their trees.

Deer-mageddon
It’s that time of year again…Deer-mageddon!
Every year at this time the Deer come out in droves, only this year it seems there are many more. Maybe it’s because we have close to a normal year with more snow than the past few, or maybe there is simply more Deer around. The photos don’t really show the sheer numbers, but are a few anyway.
These were all on a nice foggy morning.
These are from a couple days later.
Yummy Grass.
Winking at me.
til next time
