Knik River Public Use Area

Drove out Maud Rd to the Kink River Public Use Area (KRPUA) today. Was another wonderful clear and warm day, reached 35*F. I had Griz and Eli with me again, though Eli had to be on his leash some of the time, I saw lots of very large moose tracks and he likes to try and be “friends” with them.

Driving out there, I came to one of the stopping spots, but there is a trail that continues on from there. I took that trail for a little ways, but being alone and not knowing the area yet, I didn’t venture too far due to the trail getting narrower and rougher. So I turned around and went back to where I’ve been before. From there we, the dogs and I, went for a nice hike out across the lake then some further.

It was kind of hard taking some of the photos down there with the sun shining so bright and right at the direction of some of the shots I wanted. One of these days I like to head there for the sunset, I think if might be a great spot.

Driving down Maud Rd. The right side drops down a hundred foot or so.

At the lake, one side you look to the lake, the other side you look straight up to this peak at about 5,000 ft
