Another beautiful day, just had to get out again. I didn’t want to go far, just someplace I could let the dogs run, so I head down to Rabbit Slough. Rabbit Slough is part of the Palmer Hay Flats, only at the North East end. I’ve never hiked back in there before because the only other times I’ve been in the area was during summer. This time of year everything is froze so it makes for easy walking. Wasilla Creek wanders through the slough. While walking you pass through some nice old growth trees then in and out of, during summer, quite wet areas. There are moose tracks just about everywhere you look. Only saw one moose though, and it was way off in the distance. Also quite a few eagle nests, didn’t see any of them either.
’til next time
