Yeah I know, I haven’t posted in a while, been busy doing nothing. That’s all I really feel like doing now-a-days.
Warning: Rant follows.
I just don’t feel like Alaska is home any longer. Home is where the heart is, as the saying goes, and my heart is in Michigan, mainly somewhere, anywhere along the Superior shore. Really, to be honest, along any shore of the northern Great Lakes. I just want to be Home.
Alaska is great, don’t take me wrong, it’s just this area, Wasilla, it just plain out sucks, that’s if you can even remotely think of this as a town. It’s a fucking 5 lane strip of strip malls. That’s it. The views are great, unmatched, but there are so few “real” people here. Some of the “real” people that I have met, I work with, others pass through shopping, and most of the “old timers” are great people, but they are few and far between. If I could find work down on the Kenai, I’d move there in a heart beat, but there is none. This so called town is way too big for me, too many transplants, too many fake people that are pretending to be “Alaskan”. And, some, many, are plain assholes, thinking they are better then others. To you thinking that way (you know who you are, even if you don’t admit it, you know deep down).Fuck You!
End of Rant.
OK, so now all that sounds like I hate it here, I don’t, really, just this area.
There, that’s out of my system, sort of, ’til next time that is.
Today.
I headed out with the dogs not knowing where to go but ended up along the Knik River. We started on the south side for a little bit, then drove over to the north and out to where Jim Creek enters Knik River.
On to some photos.
