Woke up this morning at my usual 3:00 AM to find that I have frozen pipes. Fucking wonderful. At the moment I have the heat cranked up and all the faucets open in hopes things will thaw out a bit, but with no water coming from all the faucets, I’m afraid it’s the main line into the house that is frozen. Fuck! Up until now I haven’t had any problems, but it got down much colder than what was forecast. It’s currently -14°. Fuck Fuck Fuck!!!
Update – I have water!
Knowing that all the heating duct work is under the house and so is the water lines, I closed off all the heat vents and cranked up the heat. My thought was that with the vents closed all the heat would stay below the house and thaw the water pipes. It worked!!!
